DALEVILLE…Jacob W. Smith, a resident of Daleville, died early Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024, at his home. He was 17.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (E.T.) Tuesday, April30, 2024, in the Blakely Methodist Church in Blakely, Georgia with Reverend Michael Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
Jacob age 17, was the youngest child of Rose Serna. He was born in Miller County, Georgia and attended Daleville City Schools. Jacob had a deep love for his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, music and worked out almost daily. He dreamed of being a professional fighter in the UFC. Jacob enjoyed collecting knives and was born with a warrior spirit. He loved helping people and was always making new friends, any and everywhere he went. Jacob was very smart with a vivid imagination. He was naturally artistic and wrote poetry that was published. He had a special relationship with his Grandma Shirley, they were two peas in a pod. Jacob was preceded in death by cousin, Angela Watson; uncle, Daniel Serna; Great Grandparents, Edward and Rosie White, Albert and Delia Serna.
Jacob was survived by his mother Rosie Serna and step father, William Riley; brother, Anthony (Anya) Nash; sisters, Isabell Nash, Krista Bogert; step sisters, Kaylin Cureton and Sable Riley; grandma, Shirley (Jim) White; grandfather, Danny Serna, Sr.; aunt, Chrissy (Kevin) Watson; Uncles, Bruce Martinez and Ira Serna; aunt, Jennifer (Larry) Powell; great aunt, Cheryl Fisher; great uncle, Michael (Pam) White; and many other great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
