Ms. Jacqueline H. Grimes, age 88, of Ozark, passed away, Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
Born February 6, 1936 in Johnston, North Carolina to the late James A. Hawkins and Mabel E. Cone Hawkins. In her early years, Jackie would go skating and later when her children were teenagers, she enjoyed bowling and playing in bowling leagues. Jackie was all about family and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family would spend vacations together in Kissimmee, FL after Jackie bought a timeshare and the family still has fond memories of the weeks they would spend together every year. She was very generous with her time and her money and was always helping someone in need and she would never forget a birthday, always sending a card with a little money inside. Cruising was Jackie’s all time favorite thing to do, she even worked for Carnival Cruise for several years and always had a packed bag in her car and would leave at a moment’s notice. Jackie even shared this pastime with her family as well, spending an Alaskan cruise with her grandson Will and his wife Brooks. At any given time, any member of the family has spent time on a cruise with her.
Survivors include her daughters, Regina Lubonski (Ron) of Merritt Island, FL and Tammie Uecker (Glen) of Shawnee, OK; her sons, Mark Grimes (Sarah) of Monroe, GA and David Grimes (Lisa) of Muskogee, OK; her grandchildren, Luke Grimes, Leah Armistead, Lance Grimes, Adam Beasley, William Beasley, Stacey Kehayias, Jonathan Uecker, Rebecca Ley, and Brittney Lubonski; her great-grandchildren, Acea McCarra, Ashton Beasley, Landon Beasley, Aiden Beasley, Greyson Beasley, Lily Kehayias, Juliana Kehayias, Matthew Kehayias, Landon Kehayias, Kai Uecker, Addilyn Ley, and Levi Ley; her sister, Christine Haney of Ocala, FL; her brothers, Jimmy Hawkins (Melba) of Merritt Island, FL, Donald Hawkins and Ronald Hawkins, both of Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Sunday, November 10, 2024 from the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Seale officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11:30 AM, Sunday, November 10, 2024 prior to the service at the funeral home.
