Jacqueline Lavon Williams

We are gathered in the Lord's grace to celebrate the life of a virtuous woman, Jacqueline Lavon Williams, who walked into the loving arms of our Savior on December 26, 2023. Born on February 25, 1966, in the nurturing community of Headland, Alabama, Jacqueline was a beacon of love and faith until her peaceful passing following an extended illness.

Jacqueline, known affectionately to those who knew her best, was a daughter of Headland and carried the spirit of her hometown in her heart. She was the cherished daughter of Verdell Brown and the late Julius Brown. Her familial tapestry was rich and filled with love, including her beloved children, Kenneth Morris, who was blessed with Letitia Hayes, and her daughter, Jennifer Morris. She blossomed in life alongside her siblings, Julius Brown, Jr., Larry Brown, Julia Langston, LaTeisha Brown, and Veronica Brown. Jacqueline's legacy continued through her adoring grandchildren, Keyon Morris, Keyanna Morris, Keaton Morris, and Tayla Hill, and she was overjoyed to welcome the birth of her great-granddaughter, Kynlee Rayne Morris. Her life was a testament to the enduring bonds of family, with a host of nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Rita Bighems, who will carry her memory forward.

Our dear sister Jacqueline was a lifelong learner, her formative years spent within the walls of Headland High School, where she served for 16 years with dedication in the cafeteria, nourishing the bodies and spirits of countless students. Her work was more than a job; it was a ministry of service, a testament to her selfless nature.

A woman of deep faith, Jacqueline was a lifetime member of Jesus First Church in Headland, Alabama. Her love for the Lord was as clear as the blue skies she so adored, blue being her favorite color, reflecting the depth and calm of her loving nature. She was a woman whose smile was as bright as the morning sun, and her laughter was a melody that echoed the joy in her heart.

Jacqueline's interests were a mirror of her soul—fun, helping others, loving, and caring. She found solace and strength in Gospel music, lifting her voice in praise and worship, a songbird whose tunes resonated with the love of God. Her presence was a comfort, her care a haven for those in need. As a mother, her love was her children's fortress, her guidance their compass.

In the words of the great evangelist Billy Graham, "God's angels often protect his servants from potential enemies." Jacqueline lived as though she walked hand-in-hand with angels, her faith a shield against life's trials.
