Jamel Taney Land, passed away on January 11, 2024, in Jacksonville, FL, at the age of 27.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Bronald officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery.
Jamel attended Rehobeth High School and was an active participant in the ROTC program. Her dedication and leadership qualities shone brightly, leading her to graduate from Graceville High School. Jamel’s commitment to service was further exemplified by her admirable eight-year tenure as an electrician in the Navy, where forged lasting friendships and earned the respect of her peers.
Jamel's legacy is carried on by her loving parents, Cericca and Derrick Brown, Jimmy Land, and her three adored children, Asher, Aviya, and Maki. Grandparents, Dorothy Blanks, Jackie Brown, Gene and Ray Brown. Aunts, Tamica St. Clair, France Land, Claretha Land (Roger), Marva Land, Marsha Harper (Tommy), Anita, Peggy, Cheryl, Lisa, Kerniece and Penny. Uncles, Christopher, Frederick, Mitchell (Katherine), Kevin Brown, Michael Brown, Adam (Gwen) Alphonso, Dan, Deltrice, Austin and Barron. Great uncle, Teddy (Cheryl). Many nieces, nephews & cousins that will miss her.
Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she instilled in her children the same values of love and kindness that she lived by every day. The loss of Jamel is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
