James Allen McArdle, 67, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021, at his residence. He was born on December 26, 1953, in Florida to the late Alpheus McArdle and Letha Ann (Dawsey) McArdle.


James was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him. He proudly served in the United States Navy. James’s hobbies included being on the water, especially fishing. James owned and operated J.C. Boat Works for over 40 years before selling his business and retiring.


James is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Dorothy McArdle, children, Christopher (Amanda) McArdle, Natalie McArdle, Jennifer (Buddy) Craig, Debbie (Brian) Tabb, and Karla (Stephen) Smalley, sisters, Jean Nowell, Becky Parrish, and Priscilla Collums, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.


A Celebration of Life will be held later.
