James C. Chancellor died peacefully in Enterprise on Friday, August 7, 2015, at the age of 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 9, 2015, at El Bethel Baptist Church in Chancellor with Bro. David Hingson, Bro. Shawn Smith and Bro. Bill Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: El Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 9432 Highway 27, Chancellor, AL 36316.
James was born on January 22, 1940 to William and Lula Mae (Sutley) Chancellor. He married his wife, Martha on January 31, 1957. He was a brick mason for 45 years and his sons joined him as brick masons.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and a sister, Joe, Leon, Gillis, Junior and Curtis Chancellor and Pat Kraft.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Martha Chancellor, Enterprise Health & Rehab, Enterprise, AL; 2 daughters, Ann Kring (Jeremy), Coffee Springs, AL Donna Motley (Mike), Enterprise, AL; 3 sons, David Chancellor (Darlene), Daleville, AL, Craig Chancellor (Denise), Chancellor, AL, Mike Chancellor (Leann), Chancellor, AL: grandchildren, Chris Campbell (Nicole), Amy Chancellor, Cody Chancellor (Olivia), Justin Chancellor, Kristin Chancellor, Brody Kring, Paige Williams (Jay), Kimberli Scheuerman; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Miller, Hailey Miller, Bryson Williams; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Enterprise Health and Rehab for their great care.
