CLAYTON. . .James Carlton Toole, Sr., a resident of Clayton, Alabama, died early Monday morning, February 22, 2016, at his home. He was 81.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Toole was born and reared in Jackson County, Florida, son of the late James Broward Toole and Gertrude Wilson Toole. He formerly lived in Columbus, Georgia, Tampa, Florida and White Oak Shores before moving to Clayton. Mr. Toole was formerly employed as a heavy equipment operator and also managed the Pep Auto Parts in Columbus. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Frances Rutledge, two sisters, Loudell Coleman and Rose Hauesler and a brother, Thomas Toole.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Betty Morgan Toole; two daughters, Martha Nell McCarty (Rudolph), Lakeland, FL; and Barbara Ann Tackett (Billy), Dunnellon, FL; two sons, Charles W. Rutledge (Connie), Riverview, FL; and James C. Toole, Jr. (Deborah), Clayton; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren.
