Obituary: J.C. Gant

 

James Clarence “J.C.” Gant of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at his residence surrounded by family. He was 89.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, November 29, 2024 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend James Ryan Gant and Dr. Travis Coleman Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service beginning at 9:30 am and continuing until service time.

J.C. was born December 26, 1934 in Parish, Alabama to the late James Allen and Stella Thompson Gant. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. J.C. was a dedicated Auburn fan that graduated from Auburn University in Electrical Engineering. J.C loved spending time with family and friends and loved the outdoors. He also had a passion for building different things that his family could keep. In addition to his parents, a daughter, Kristi Gant King; daughter-in-law, Sharon Barnes Gant; granddaughter, Kayla Michelle Gant; sisters: Elaine Tidwell, Rheulna Swindle, Earcell Windrester, Lynetta Kimbrell all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kathryn Baughn Gant of Enterprise, Al; children: Michael Gant of Tallahassee, Fl, Karyn Lindsey (Jeff) of Spanish Fort, Al, Kelli Beyer (Richie) of Millbrook, Al; eleven grandchildren: Zach Bright (Taylor), Taylar Powers (Chase), Braden Bright, Ryan Gant (Kayla), Kaylyn Kyllonen (Randy), Peyton Lindsey, Ivy Anderson (Tyler), Olivia Lindsey, Gracie Hess (Ethan), Aubrey Beyer, Colby Beyer; four great-grandchildren: Logan Gant, Jonah Gant, Skylar Bright, Oaklynn Bright.
