JAMES “CLAY” HASTY
COLUMBIA, AL… James “Clay” Hasty, a resident of the Camp Springs Community of Henry County near Columbia, Alabama, passed away Friday afternoon, December 2, 2022, at a Dothan hospital. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Jody Haddan and Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Hasty’s request was that everyone attend his funeral in casual attire. He wanted everyone comfortable.
Mr. Hasty was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late Monford Hasty and Francis Blount Hasty. He lived his entire life in the Camp Springs Community of Henry County, near Columbia, Alabama. Clay was a 1977 graduate of Houston County High School. He was retired from the Sony Corporation in Dothan, Alabama. After retirement, he worked with Red Star Yeast in Newville, Alabama. He was a member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church and regularly attended with Haleburg United Methodist Church.
Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Hasty.
Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife, Kathy Richardson Hasty; his daughters, Karla Hall and Holly Peacock (Brian); his son, Dale Duncan; his grandchildren, Amelia Burkett, Hannah Browning (Wyatt), Anthony Hall (Kaitlyn), Logan Duncan, Payton Jinks, and Freya Duncan; and his great-grandchildren, Rayleigh Burkett, Kynslie McCall, and Lucy Zellers.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Anthony Hall, Logan Duncan, Payton Jinks, Rhett Stevens, Mike Alford, and Brian Peacock.
