JAMES CLAY SELLERS, II
COLUMBIA…James Clay Sellers, II, a resident of Dothan, formerly of Columbia, died Thursday night, September 26, 2013. He was 24.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 29, 2013, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Reverend Don Tew, Reverend Jimmy Rosado, and Gerald Love officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church “Youth Fund”, 3894 Ebenezer Road, Columbia, AL 36319.
James Clay Sellers, II was born and reared in the Ebenezer Community, near Columbia, where he lived most of his lifetime. He was a 2007 honor graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia, where he excelled in sports and played quarterback on the football team. Clay also attended Troy University. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Clay was preceded in death by his grandfathers, E. Mark Utsey, and James Louie Sellers.
Clay had a smile that would warm your heart and was truly loved. He will be missed but forever in our hearts.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Chloe Lynn Sellers, and Chloe’s mother, Clay’s beloved, Haylie Wells, both of Headland; his parents, Clay and Molly Utsey Sellers; two brothers, Colby Sellers and Cooper Sellers, all of Columbia; grandmothers, Molly Sue Utsey, Dothan, and Sue Culbreth Sellers, Boone, NC, formerly of Columbia; aunts, Stephanie Weeks (Chris), Boone, NC, Mitzi Kuntz (Bill), and Mona O’Connor (Dave), all of Jacksonville, FL; and an uncle, Michael Wilkerson, Dothan; cousins, Christine Kuntz, Cameron Kuntz, Billy Kuntz, Barclay Bowen, John O’Connor, Sam Weeks, and Lily Weeks.
Serving as active pallbearers will be his brothers, Colby and Cooper Sellers, and A. J. Howard, Nolan Martin, Coach Matt Hayes, Coach Darren Stewart, Coach Greg Gibson, Drew Ruble, Caleb Towns, Tim Wells, Chris Wells, Michael Wells, John O’Connor, and Dereck Walker, Cliff Nyman, Cody Rhodes, Vann Cooley, Monty Goocher, Sidney Goocher, Matt Nall, Jeff Sollie, Doug Wells, Arnie Forrester, Randi Cooley, Craig Nall, John Evans, and Rick Matthews.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the 2007 Class of Houston County High School.
