COLUMBIA. . .James Derek Edmondson, a resident of Columbia, died late Friday night, May 17, 2024, at his home. He was 54.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 20, 2024, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Vann Cooley officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Derek Edmondson was a lifelong resident of Columbia and attended Houston County High School. He was retired, due to disability, as a painter. Derek was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Maddox “Sandy” Edmondson.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Kendra Noblitt, Jamie Houser (Seth), and Anna Edmondson (Roosevelt Walker), a son, Dylan Edmondson (Ronie), his parents, James and Faith Harrison Edmondson, a sister, Denise Gingles (Terry), all of Columbia; grandchildren, Nicholas Houser, Laweah Walker, Tessa Houser, and a grandson on the way, Waylon Houser; a niece, Brittney Brooks (Jason), a nephew, Ryan Gingles (Jinabelle); two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be David Jones, Stephen Davis, Lee Harrison, Roosevelt Walker, Seth Houser and Dylan Edmondson.
