James Edward Ransum of Hayden, Alabama passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at UAB.  He was 72.

 

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at El Bethel Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday beginning at 2:00 and continuing until service time.

 

James was born February 16, 1945, in Gadsden, Alabama.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Lee and Mary Jo Davis Ransum; wife, Barbara Ransum; sister, Louise Smith; two brothers: Mickey Ransum and Glenn Ransum.

 

Survivors include two sons: Jason Ransum (Jennifer) and Steven Ransum (Angie), all of Warrior; brother, Troy Lee Ransum (Barbara) of Ashville; two grandchildren: Austin and Jessica.
