LAWRENCEVILLE COMMUNITY. . .James Elbert “Jimmy” Kelley, a resident of the Lawrenceville Community of Henry County, died Thursday morning, June 10, 2021, at his home. He was 87.


   There are no memorial or funeral services planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


   Jimmy was a lifelong resident of the Lawrenceville Community, son of the late Clarence F. Kelley and Amelia Hagler Kelley. He served his country in the U. S. Army from 1956 until 1958. Jimmy is a member of the Sardis Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. In earlier years, Jimmy was a member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church. He was formerly employed by Ezzell’s Department Store for many years. Jimmy had also been employed by WestPoint Stevens and served as an Insurance Agent with Independent Life Insurance Co. In later years, he worked for Ronnie’s Men’s & Boys Wear and Burnham’s Shoes where he retired at age of seventy-three. Jimmy enjoyed gardening, lawn work and spending time with his grandsons. Jimmy is preceded in death by a brother, William F. “Billy” Kelley.


   Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-years, Inez Campbell Kelley; a daughter, Karen Kelley Morgan, and a son, Stan Kelley (Stephanie), all of the Lawrenceville Community; two grandchildren, Travis Kelley and Dustin Clark; several cousins, including Phil and Patty Kelley.
