James F. Fitch, Jr.

James F. Fitch, Jr., passed away peacefully at Extendicare in Dothan, Alabama on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was 90 years old.

James was born on June 17, 1934 in Gordon, Alabama and resided the majority of his life in Ashford, Alabama. He was a 1952 graduate of Ashford High School. He was a member of the Ashford United Methodist Church. James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his son, James "Jimmy" Fitch, III, his parents, J.F. Fitch and Eddie Lou Fitch, and his brother, Frank Fitch.

James is survived by his wife of 70 years, Emily Adams Fitch, of Ashford, Alabama, two daughters, Pam Fitch of Auburn, Alabama and Jill Fitch of Pike Road, Alabama, and three grandsons, Elliot Fitch, Brandon Fitch, and Adam Fitch of Pike Road, Alabama.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Ashford City Cemetery with Reverend Mike Grimes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks, autismspeaks.org.

The family greatly appreciates Extendicare staff and administration for their loving care and support.
