MALVERN….James F. (Frankie) Jones, Jr., a resident of Malvern, died early Friday evening, December 5, 2014, in a Dothan hospital. He was 48.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 8, 2014, in the Union Springs Baptist Church, near Newville, with Reverend Guy W. Causey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be to the Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1642 County Road 73, Newville, AL 36353.


            Frankie was a native of Newville and a 1984 Graduate of Headland High School. He formerly served in the Army National Guard. Frankie was a member of the Union Springs Baptist Church and was engaged in farming most of his adult life. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ralph Lee Jones.


            Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Marie Jones, Mt. Pleasant, TX; two step-sons, Chris Shelley, Mobile and Michael Shelley, Deridder, LA; his parents, James Frank Jones, Sr. and Mary Ellen Arnold Jones, Newville; two brothers, Shad Jones, Newville and Clint Jones (Beth), Ashford; grandson, Aiden Matthew Jones; two nephews, Zach Jones and Hudson Jones; and his special friend, Cindy Hayes, Malvern.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Clint Jones, Shad Jones, Tommy Price, Gene Arnold, Tony Arnold, and Danny Ellison.
