James Grady Flowers, known by many as Jim, was born on May 3, 1963, in Albany, Georgia, and peacefully passed away on November 7, 2023, in Birmingham, Alabama. Jim was a man of many talents and interests, but above all, he was known for his loving and selfless nature. His charisma, sense of humor, and dedication to his family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished.
Jim was a proud graduate of Albany High School, where he first discovered his passion for woodworking. This interest would later shape his career as a finish carpenter, a job that he pursued with great dedication and skill. His workmanship was admired by many, and he took great pride in creating beautiful pieces that will stand the test of time.
In addition to his professional achievements, Jim was a successful entrepreneur. He owned and operated Plan B, a popular establishment in Dothan, Alabama. Jim was also an ordained minister, offering his services to those in need. Despite his many roles, he was first and foremost a devoted family man. He leaves behind his loving wife, Rebecca Flowers, his sons Jackson Grady Flowers, Daniel Hunter Faulk, and Michael James Bennett. His daughters Brooklyn Paige Flowers, Reagan Jay Mavery Bennett, Ashton Elizabeth Nicole Lemonte, and Every Edith Marie Lemonte will forever remember their father's generous love and unwavering support. His surviving brother, Sean Patrick Randall, will always cherish their shared memories. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Bertha Kelley, whose love and guidance shaped him into the man he became.
Jim was a man of many passions. As a proud Georgia Bulldog fan, he enthusiastically supported his team, sharing in their victories and defeats. He enjoyed golf as well as playing softball until the age of 35. His love for bluegrass music was well known among his friends and family. A lover of the outdoors, Jim found peace and tranquility in fishing, a pastime he often shared with his loved ones. He also enjoyed a good beer after a long day of work.
Jim was a great dad and husband, always going above and beyond for his family. His funny and selfless nature made him a joy to be around, and his unique ability to turn any situation into a positive experience was truly one of a kind. His handy skills were admired by many, and he was always ready to lend a hand or offer advice.
James Grady Flowers was a man who lived his life fully, generously sharing his love and talents with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his many loving friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. His life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and dedication, qualities that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
