Mr. James Gregory (Greg) Bond, age 57,  a resident of Haleburg died Saturday June 21, 2014 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center after a sudden illness.


 


Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday June 25, 2014 at the Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Cobb officiating and Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Glover Funeral Home.  Flowers will be accepted.


 


Mr. Bond was born on November 21, 1956 in Dothan the son of Johnny Ray Bond and Carolyn Casey Bond.   Greg worked for 34 years with Mayer Electric as a truck driver and he was a very passionate fan of the University of Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball.   He was a graduate of Wicksburg High School and was of the Baptist faith.


 


He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Bond.


 


Survivors include: wife, Lisa Bond, Haleburg; two daughters, Meshell Plouffe (Roger), Yulee, FL.; Mandy Bond, San Diego, Ca.; a son, Michael Bond, Wicksburg; step-daughter, Amanda Riddle (Bryan), Panama City, FL.; mother, Carolyn Alberson (Joel), Wicksburg; father, Johnny Ray Bond (Phyllis), Newton; sister, Jill Champion (Johnny), Dothan; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Roger and Madison; 2 step-grandchildren, Allyssa and Bryan; very special friends, William Phillips and Rhett Sanders both of Dothan; several nieces and nephews.


 


Pallbearers will be: William Phillips, Rhett Sanders, Johnny Champion, Billy Champion, Joshua Champion and Dennis Quattlebaum.


 


Glover Funeral Home of Dothan is entrusted with the arrangements.
