ABBEVILLE. . .James Harry Stinson, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at his home. He was 66.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in the Edwin Cemetery with Reverend George Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edwin Cemetery Fund, c/o Lamar Spivey, 6261 County Road 54, West, Clopton, AL 36317.
James Stinson was a lifelong resident of Abbeville, son of the late James Marcus Stinson and Imogene Shipes Stinson.He was a graduate of Abbeville High School. James was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville. James was an avid Alabama football fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Krista Mize, a brother, Allen Wayne Stinson, his grandparents, Harry and Estelle Stinson and Coy and Evie Shipes.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Alan Stinson, Abbeville; and Sean Stinson (Torrie), Columbia; a granddaughter, Shanna Stinson; aunts, Sueanne Tabb, Faye Daughtry, Betty Jean Hagler (Gene), and Lela Golden, an uncle, Don Stinson (Ruby), a host of cousins and friends, and the mother of his children, Denise Pruitt.
