JAMES HENRY LITTLEFIELD
GEORGETOWN, GEORGIA. . .James Henry (Jim) Littlefield, a resident of Georgetown, Georgia, died early Saturday morning, March 22, 2014, in a Dothan, Alabama hospital. He was 79.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. (C.D.T), Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Brother Russell Hagler officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary, Headland, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital of Alabama, 1600 7th Avenue, South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
Mr. Littlefield was born in Blue Springs, Alabama, and was reared in Eufaula and Dothan, son of the late Henry Clayton Littlefield and Eura Lee Scott Littlefield. He was a 1953 graduate of Dothan High School and attended Troy University. In 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. After the war, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and was discharged with rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
Mr. Littlefield was formerly employed by Herff-Jones and Jostens in the graduation supply business. He was a former resident of Taylorsville, North Carolina where he was a member of the Taylorsville Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Frances Higdon Littlefield, Georgetown, GA; two daughters, Lenita Littlefield King, Georgetown, GA; and Amy Littlefield Dawkins (Curtis), Enterprise, AL; two sons, Scott Littlefield (Christy), Trussville, AL; and Clay Littlefield (Kellie), Niceville, FL; a sister, Lenora Littlefield, of Georgia; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
