BERTHA COMMUNITY. . .James Homer Walker, a resident of the Bertha Community of Dale County, died Friday, December 6, 2019, at his home. He was 78.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2019, in the Bells Crossroads Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Preston officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Walker was born and reared in Dale County, son of the late Homer Lee Walker and Jimmie Mack Riley Walker. He was a graduate of Carroll High School and served his country in the Army National Guard. Mr. Walker was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi as a Shipfitter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Dale Walker.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Daniel H. Walker (Tonya), Moss Point, Mississippi; and David Walker, Helena, MS; a brother, Jimmy O. Walker, Bertha Community; six grandchildren, Brooke Walker, Tori Walker, Brittni Walker, Drake Sims, Kolton Savage and Kaden Savage; four great-grandchildren, Klaire Caudillo, Karson Sims, Baylor Sims and Keegan Sims.
