A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Bliss officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Helicopter Pavilion. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://act.alz.org/donate.
James Hubert Jackson, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away early Saturday morning, January 7, 2023. He was 84 years old.

Hubert was born on October 13, 1938 in Midland City to J. B. Jackson and Susie Matha Smith Jackson Oliver. He served his country 21 years in the US Army and retired as E8 Master Sgt. He served two tours in Vietnam receiving two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. Hubert enjoyed the outdoors and being able to go fishing every chance he got. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan, Roll Tide!
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. Jackson and Susie Matha Smith Jackson Oliver, his siblings, Hazel Marie Woodham, Dewight Jackson, Wallace Jackson, and Barbara Jackson; and by his brother-in-law, Emil “Gene” Dehne.
Surviving relatives include three sons, Jeffrey (Brandy) Jackson of Dothan, AL, Mark (Robin) Jackson of Crawfordville, FL, and Matthew Jackson of Athens, GA; his four sisters, Sarah Helen (Ronald) Beckon, Janice (Jimmy) Robinson, Peggy Dehne, and Joyce (Edward) Jackson; one brother, C. B. (Burnise) Jackson; sister-in-law, Angie Jackson; his six granddaughters, Amber Jackson Dunlap, Audrey Jackson, Kendall Jackson, Addison Jackson, Raelyn Jackson, and Kendra Jackson; his four grandsons, Marcus Jackson, Christopher Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson, Jr., and Silas Jackson; one great granddaughter, Estelle Dunlap; and many nieces and nephews.
