MIDLAND, GEORGIA…James Hubert Peterson, a resident of Midland, Georgia, died late Sunday night, May 26, 2013, at his home. He was 90.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. (CDT) Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Pastor James A. Rich officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.
Mr. Peterson was born and reared in Henry County, near Headland, son of the late John Henry Peterson and Mary Brown Peterson. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Peterson was formerly employed as a meat cutter with the U.S. Civil Service at Fort Rucker. He lived in Dothan and Phenix City before moving to Midland, Georgia in 2008. Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by all of his sisters and brothers.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Marquita Peterson Priester (Jerry), Midland, GA; a son, Van Wye Peterson (Teresa), Seale, AL; six grandchildren, Miranda Peterson, David Peterson, James Peterson, Gerald Carroll, Kristina Matthews, and Jessica Priester; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
