COTTONWOOD…James Hudson “Jimmy” Lamb, II, a resident of Cottonwood, died Tuesday morning, July 10, 2018, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center in Dothan. He was 56.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M., Friday, July 13, 2018, in the Cottonwood City Cemetery with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Jimmy Lamb was an outstanding football and track athlete as a student of Houston Academy in Dothan, AL and on the track team at Auburn University briefly before a tragic accident in 1980. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. With devotion his family and friends, especially his mother, cared for him at home until he moved to Extendicare in 2010 where he continued to be loved.
Surviving relatives include his father, James Hudson “Jim” Lamb, Cottonwood; two sisters, Anne Gardner (Jim), Eufaula, AL; and Jane Elsea (Phil), Piney Flats, TN; 3 nieces and 2 nephews, John, Kate, David, Kay and Leah; and 3 great nieces and a great nephew, Fischer, Lydia, Rosemary and Lilly Anne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alabama Head Injury Foundation, 3100 Lorna Road, Suite 200, Birmingham, AL 35216 (205-823-3818) or the charity of your choice.
