“Have you received His image in your countenance? Does the Light of Christ Shine in your eyes? Will he know you when He comes again because you shall be Like Him, When he sees you will the Father know His child?”
On Sunday, November 7, 2021, surrounded by his family, James “Hutt” Hutto, left this mortal life, and started his next mission along his eternal progression.
James was born to September 29, 1947, to J.T. and Mary Hutto in Ozark, Alabama. He grew up in Echo with his sisters Jeanette, Charlotte, and Brenda; and graduated from Carrol High School.
As a young couple, James and Pam searched for a church home to help strengthen their Christian faith. After Pam’s brother told them about his church and his pending mission trip he was planning, the family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. James and Pam were both baptized on the same day in the Spring of 1976 and went through the temple in 1978. One of fondest spiritual events of James’ life was a weeklong trip to Washington D.C. to spend the week in the temple.
Over his lifetime, James worked for Asplundh as a foreman, but spent his free time coaching his kids’ baseball teams, cheering on Alabama football & girls fast-pitch softball and the Atlanta Braves, working on cross-word puzzles, but most importantly – playing with his grandkids.
He joins his parents and sisters Jeanette and Charlotte in heaven. He will be missed by his loving wife Pam, sons J.J. and wife Natalie, Ben and wife Kira, and Peter, daughters Stormy and husband Rocky, and Aubrey, and his 15 grandchildren: Blake and wife McKenzie, Gracie and husband Conner, Sawyer, Sophie, Carlise, Wesley, Josie, Dorian, Devon, Athena, Lily, Zoe, C.J., Matthew, and Noah.
