James Jerry Waddell

James Jerry Waddell, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. He was 69 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Gross officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Love in Action International Ministries, 279 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

Jerry was born on March 6, 1951 in Gadsden, Alabama, moved to Daleville, and lived there the early years of his life. He was a 1969 graduate of Daleville High School. Jerry worked in the automotive service industry as a specialist in the I.T. Department until he retired from Penske Headquarters in Troy, Michigan in 2002. He moved back to Dothan in 2012 and was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Janet Waddell; his sons, Nathan Johnson and Jimmy Waddell; his daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Snyder; his mother, Jeannette Waddell; his brother, Mark (Louise) Waddell; his sisters, Linda (Walter) Hopper, Sheila Allsup, Suzanne Robinson, and Anita Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.
