Brannon Stand Road, Dothan, AL 36305.

Jim was born January 15, 1954, in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late James Joseph, Sr. & Betty Anne Speigner Coskrey. He holds a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Troy State University. Jim completed a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX. He served as a counselor and director of the Vineyard Conference Center in Ariton for 5 years while attending seminary. Jim also served as Education and Student Pastor at Parkview Baptist Church in Eufaula for 11 years and until recently as the Student Pastor at Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Dothan for 18 years. He served as Associate Pastor of Administration and Facilities Management at Mount Gilead Baptist Church until his retirement in March 2020.

Jim’s calling and ministry has always been to disciple students and involve them in the whole ministry of the local church with an emphasis on missions. This call came during his life when he earnestly sought God’s will while working in his family’s businesses, preparing to work as Juvenile Probation Officer, and working part-time as a relief house parent at the local Alabama Sheriff’s Boys Ranch in Clayton. With God’s blessing, he has been able to minister in two great churches for 31 years and witness hundreds of students and their families grow and thrive through some most important years of their lives.

To date, Jim has led some 52 national and international mission trips with students and their parents. There have been over 200 known Professions of Faith within the student ministries and have been over 30 students who have pursued God’s call to full-time Christian service in all areas of ministry. In areas of community ministry, Jim has been involved in First Priority, a ministry to local schools for 10 years, and Wired Ministries, a local student ministry to the Wiregrass community for 10 years where he is a charter member of the Wired Board of Directors. Jim has been involved in Super Summer Alabama, a state ministry to students for 8 years as a ministry host and was given the Keith Loomis Lifetime Achievement Award in student ministry for the year 2015.
