James “Jimmy” Bernard Peterman, a resident of Ozark, passed away on February 4, 2021. He was 86 years old.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lyle Peluso officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Living Hope, P.O. Box 365, Dothan, AL 36302-0365.
Jimmy was born on August 6, 1934 to the late Raymond and Hazel Peterman. He was owner and operator of Peterman Cabinet Shop for over 40 years. Jimmy and his wife were longtime faithful members of Dothan Vineyard Church. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Jimmy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne Jones; his son-in-law, Mike Jones; his siblings, Dottie Cheatham, Aubrey Peterman, Tommy Peterman, Robert Peterman, and Betty Peterman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley S. Peterman; his son, Ronnie (Kim) Peterman; his daughter, Kaye (Tim) Crooks; his eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Guy) Anderson, Heather (Denny) Johnson, Jayme (Tara) Wells, Jim (Elizabeth) Anderson, Kelli (Shauna) Crooks, Shane Franklin, Brock Peterman, and Kyle (Savannah) Peterman; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Barbara Zoch; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special feline companion, Smokey Joe.
Serving as pallbearers: Denny Johnson, Jim Anderson, Brock Peterman, and Kyle Peterman.
