James Keen of Newton, AL passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 85.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Newton First Assembly of God with Reverend Tommy Giddens officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

 

James loved playing his fiddle, but most of all he loved his family. He attended Newton First Assembly of God.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents Jackson and Willie Lou Keen and son Jimmy Ray Keen, Sr.

 

James is survived by his wife Nancy Keen, daughter Alicia Deese and Scott, son Ronnie E. Keen and Nancy, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers will be Cameron Deese, Ronnie Keen and Jimmy Keen, Jr., Dalton Mansfield, Madison Taylor, Tony Watson and Bill Mansfield.
