DOTHAN. . .James Lawton “Jimmy” Dell, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2016, at his home. He was 67.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 13, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Danny Quincey officiating and eulogies to be given by Benny Nowell and Ronnie Nowell. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Care, 1512 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301 or to Ozark Health & Rehabilitation Center, 312 Bryan Drive, Ozark, AL 36360.
Jimmy Dell was born and reared on Harrison Road, Dothan, and was a 1967 graduate of Headland High School. He attended Troy University at Fort Rucker. Jimmy was engaged in farming all his adult lifetime. In earlier years, he was employed by Dothan Oil Mill Company as Vice-President. Jimmy was a member of the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lawton Dell, Sr.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Anne-Kathryn Baugh (Stephen), Huntsville, AL; two sons, Clay Dell (Jenny), Boston, GA and Reid Dell, Atlanta; a granddaughter, Lilly Dell; his mother, Mildred Smith Dell, a resident of Ozark Health & Rehabilitation, formerly of Dothan; a special friend, Liz Aman Diggs; two sisters, Rosemary Dunagan (Larry), Dothan; and Kathy Curtis (Jack), Roswell, GA; two brothers, Jerry Dell (Merrily), Chancellor, AL; and Glenn Dell, Midland City; several nieces and nephews.
