DOTHAN, ALABAMA. . .James Marion Pearce, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday morning, August 28, 2024, at the home of his daughter in Rockmart, Georgia. He was 83.


            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan, with Reverend George Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


            Mr. Pearce was born in Dothan and reared in Plant City, Florida, son of the late Mack Pearce and Mae Key Pearce. He lived in Clewiston, Florida most of his lifetime before returning to Dothan in 2005. Mr. Pearce served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was retired from U. S. Sugar Corporation in Clewiston as Vice-President and Field Director. Mr. Pearce was preceded in death by his wife, Alice J. “Jenny” Pearce, sisters, Betty Capan and Patricia Carlisle, and brothers, Bill Pearce, Johnnie Mack Pearce, Charles Pearce and David Pearce.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Traci Brooks-Powell and husband, Bobby Powell, Rockmart, GA; two sisters, Cara Weaver and Sharon Tucker, and brother-in-law, Horace Carlisle, all of Plant City, Florida; two grandchildren, Ashtyn Brooks and Braydon Powell; numerous nieces and nephews.
