HEADLAND. . .James Ralph Renfroe, a former resident of Headland, died early Monday evening, September 7, 2020, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility. He was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2020, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Harrison Steege and Reverend Lovie Jean Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday in the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. Renfroe was born and reared in Coffee County, near Samson, son of the late Stiner Renfroe and Ethel Dozier Renfroe. He moved to Headland in 1968 where he was employed by E & W Building Materials Co. as a Truss Builder. Mr. Renfroe was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Community Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pinkie Tidwell Renfroe, a daughter, Lois Doreine Shelley, a grandson, Christopher Dean Whitehead, a son-in-law, Grady Boatwright, and twin great-grandsons.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Barbara Peters (Chester) and Sandra Nell Richardson (Tony), all of Headland; and Nora Whitehead (William), Tumbleton Community; a son, Randy Renfroe (Joyce), Tumbleton Community; son-in-law, William Shelley; nineteen grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special great-nephew, Ernest Wayne Taylor (Selena).
