DOTHAN. . .James Randy Daughtry, a resident of Dothan, went to be to be his Savior, early Wednesday afternoon, April 3, 2024, at his home. He was 61.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 6, 2024, in the Bay Springs Baptist Church with his son, Judson Daughtry and Pastor Tommy Green officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bay Springs Baptist Church, 1721 South Bay Springs Road, Dothan, AL 36305 (bayspringsbaptistdothan.com) or Fighting With Hope Cancer Charity, 358 St. Louis Street, Mobile, AL 36602 (fightingwithhope.com).
Randy Daughtry was a lifelong resident of the Bay Springs community of Houston County. He was a 1980 graduate of Wicksburg High School and attended Wallace Community College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Electronics. Randy was retired from Snell Service, Co. after 38 years in management. He was a lifelong member of Bay Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Adult VII Sunday School Class. His faith in Christ was an integral part of his life. Randy was a talented multi-instrumentalist, specializing in drums and piano and enjoyed music throughout his life. He loved watching Alabama football and baseball, fishing, working with his hands and spending time with his family. Randy was an exemplary husband, father, and caretaker to his parents. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David Malachi Snell and Opal Snell Lee, and Alphus Rex Daughtry and Gladies Daughtry.
Surviving relatives include his wife of thirty-nine years, Julie Richardson Daughtry; a son, Judson Daughtry, his parents, James Ray and Flora Daughtry, all of Dothan; a sister, Jennifer Forrester (Keith), Dothan; aunts and uncles, Dwayne and Gayle Snell, Comer and Linda Daughtry, a sister-in-law, Starla Bowling (Kirk), a brother-in-law, David Richardson, nieces, Anna Crowley, Ella Forrester and Emma Hall, a nephew, Michael Crowley; cousins, Amy Daughtry Wade (Charles), Lyn Daughtry, Marty Snell (Kelley) and Twila Calhoun (Marty); and many more extended family members who he loved dearly.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the men of the Adult VII Sunday School Class.
