HALEBURG…James Ricky Carter, a resident of Haleburg, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at the home of his brother, Art and Kelly Carter, in Ashford. He was 66.

            Celebration of Life services, with military honors, will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the Camp Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the church, 13205 County Road 53, Columbia, AL 36319. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Breath of Life, 1800 Northside Drive, Dothan, AL 36303 in care of Katelyn Pope or your preference of Veteran organizations.

            Ricky was born in Panama City, FL, son of the late James Roy Carter and Mary Maxine Harris Carter. He was a man that not only loved life, but did so with great fervor. Ricky had many travel adventures with his beloved wife, Miss Barbara, that spanned the globe. A talented Broadcast Engineer in Media Communications and Navy Veteran, he touched and influenced the lives of all who knew him.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara Carter, Haleburg, AL; three sons, Michael Carter, Dothan, AL; James W. Carter (Elizabeth), Dothan, AL; Clay Carter (Tara), Camp Pendelton, CA; a sister, Renee Carter Hall (Joe), Haleburg, AL; a brother, Art Carter (Kelly), Ashford, AL; aunts and uncles along with many cousins from the Carter and Harris families, and special caregivers Mollie and Ansa Carter.
