James Ronald Price, Jr.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2pm in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jay Joye officiating. The family will be receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Jim will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with his late father and brother. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Frist Presbyterian Church of Dothan or to Providence Christian School in Jim’s honor.

James Ronald Price, Jr., known affectionately as Jim to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, in his hometown of Dothan, Alabama. Born on January 7, 1966, in the same close-knit community, Jim's 61 years were marked by his kind heart, clever hands, and an innate ability to make those around him smile.

Jim graduated from Northview High School in 1984. Furthering his education, he acquired a technical degree that paved the way for his future career. As a fluid power specialist, Jim dedicated 15 years to his craft, becoming the go-to expert in the intricacies of hydraulics and machinery at Tristate Industrial Rubber.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jim served his community with pride as an auxiliary volunteer officer for the Dothan Police Department. His commitment to service was a reflection of his generous spirit and his desire to contribute positively to the world around him.

Jim was not only smart and skilled but also a man of many interests. He harbored a deep love for NASCAR and Alabama football. He lived for 6 years in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he enjoyed the vibrant environment and ocean fishing. However, the call of home was strong, and he returned to Dothan, where his roots ran deep.

Above all, Jim loved to make people laugh. His humor was a gift that he freely shared, bringing lightness and joy to every gathering. He was also an avid fisherman, relishing the tranquility and challenge of the sport. Jim's kind nature and handy skills made him a beloved figure in his community and an anchor in his family.

Jim leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Susan Price, his daughter, Jessica Price, and his son, Andrew Barron (Courtney). He was a cherished grandfather to Kyla Price, Lily Price, Madeline Price, Kendra Barron, and Amelia Barron, who will miss his playful spirit and tender guidance. His special aunt, Barbara Thomas (Mike), and his lifelong best friend, David Jay (Wendy), will remember Jim for the steadfast love and loyalty he showed them throughout his life.

Predeceased by his father, James Ronald Price, Sr., and his brother, William Brian Price, Jim's legacy of kindness and service lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a man who could fix anything, a trait that extended beyond machinery to the hearts of those he touched.
