Jane Hall Knox, a lifelong resident of Gordon; died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at her residence. She was 86.
Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Gordon City Cemetery with Dr. Samuel Prim and Reverend Griff Pemberton officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the graveside from 9:30 – 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home, 1712 Broad St., Selma, AL 36701, or The Grace UMC Building Fund, P.O. Box 1007, Ashford, Al 36312.
Mrs. Knox was a 1946 graduate of Huntingdon College with a degree in Biology and Sociology.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, C. Kendall Knox, parents, Samuel and Dixie Hall, a brother, Samuel J. Hall, III, and a sister, Sara H. Roemer.
She is survived by her children, Marion Barker of Dadeville, AL; Ken Knox and his wife, Kim of Laurel, MS; four grandchildren, Adam Knox, Kendall Barker, Kathryn Barker, Noah Knox, one niece, Joan H. Godfrey and her husband, Tommy, one nephew, Samuel J. Hall, IV and his wife, Cathy, and two great-nephews, Whit and Jonathan Godfrey, and special friends, Margaret Ann Helms, Gussie Morrison, Dorian Johnson, and Betty Mitchell.
