Janet McNeill, a loving and kind soul, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023, at her residence. Born on April 24, 1950, in Houston County, Janet lived a life full of love, joy, and warmth.
Funeral service services will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 24, 2023, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Brother Royce Morrow officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM -2 PM in the chapel.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Assembly Of God Church 206 South County Road 9, Newton, AL, United States, Alabama
Janet leaves behind her husband, of 53 years Charles McNeill. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their daughter, Lisa McNeill (Jonathan), and sons, Gregory McNeill (Melanie) and Douglas McNeill (Latsany). Grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan Shirah, Chase and Cathyryne McNeill, great-grandchildren, Kingston Nowell and Brixton Chase McNeil, and several brothers and sisters.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Ellen Dean. Several aunts and uncles.
Janet’s grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Janet had a passion for Sunday brunches at home, where she would often gather her family for a meal filled with laughter and love. She was an avid gardener, with a deep love for day lilies, their vibrant colors and delicate forms reflecting her own inner beauty and resilience. Janet had a unique ability to make friends wherever she went, living by the motto that she "never met a stranger." She was full of love and kindness, her thoughtful gestures and caring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family.
