Janice Lane Taylor Craddock, a resident of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the age of 97.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, GA with Pastor Ed Kvietkus officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. CDT Thursday, in the Headland Baptist Cemetery in Headland, AL., with Holman-Headland Mortuary and Cremations in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Craddock was born October 22, 1923, to William Leonard Taylor and Liney Money Taylor and raised in Headland, AL. On June 18, 1943, she married the love of her life, Mike Craddock. Settling in Columbus, they raised a family and were faithful to their Lord and each other for 57 years until Mike’s passing in May of 2000. Mrs. Craddock was a homemaker devoted to her husband, children, and family. She was the epitome of a southern lady known for her cooking of pound cakes, cornbread, and cheese crackers to name a few with the ability to prepare a spread for all with ease. She was a loyal and long-time member of Rose Hill Baptist Church where she served faithfully and was nurturing to a multitude of friends. Her giving heart and laugh was inspiring revealing a love for everyone around her.
In addition to Mrs. Craddock’s parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Joe Michael Craddock; brother, Jean Tunney Lee Taylor; and sister, Lennie Taylor Trawick.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Vicki Wingard (John), Columbus GA; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Craddock, Plano, TX; granddaughters, Mary Weber (Heiko), London, England; Joanne Pope (Tony), Sachse, TX; Sarah Owsley (Jim), Coppell, TX; Rachel Deimling (Adam), Plano, TX; nieces, Janet Walworth (Chris) and Sylvia Hemby (Jim) and family, all of Dothan; and 8 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rose Hill Baptist Church, 2100 Hamilton Rd, Columbus, GA 31904, or Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31909.
