Ms. Janie "Jane" Palmer Davis, of Newton, AL, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2017, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL with the Rev. Justin Shields and Rev. Tim Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery in Hartford, AL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Veterans/Wounded Warrior Project.
Ms. Davis was born in Geneva County, AL, to the late James Matthew and Tinnie Estelle Kelly Palmer. Ms. Davis was a true patriot, a true servant at heart through her role as a Home Health Nurse with the Geneva County Health Department and always went beyond the call of duty to serve others. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her flowers and was an avid gardener. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Davis; son, Johnny Allen Davis; one brother, James Henry Palmer; four sisters, Ellen Ruth White, Robbie Lee Queen, Dot Mowrey, and Betty Jean Jordan; one granddaughter, Cynthia Aileen Gill; one great-grandson, Robert Hagen McDuffie; and one great-granddaughter.
Ms. Davis is survived by three daughters, Fran Washington (James) of Midland City, AL, Linda Howell of Tallahassee, FL, and Theresa Davis of Newton, AL; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of special nieces & nephews.
