Jannie Mae McCauley
Jannie Mae McCauley, a resident of Shorterville, AL, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. She was 65.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel on West Main Street with Pastor Willie Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home chapel from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Mrs. McCauley was born January 18, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida to Joe and Mary Asby Smith. After her high school graduation, she attended FCCJ where she obtained her nursing degree. She was also a licensed E.M.T. Mrs. McCauley had three beautiful daughters and was a resident of Henry County for over 35 years.
She loved her Lord and was a prayer warrior and minister to many over the last 40 years. She also had a prison and jail ministry for over 20 years.
Preceding her in death were her husband and the love of her life, Louis McCauley, her father, Joe Smith, her brothers and sisters, John Henry Smith, Carrie Louise Raines, Alfonzo Smith and Freddie Lee Smith.
Mrs. McCauley leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mary Asby Smith of Jacksonville, FL; her three daughters, Rachael McCauley-Goodson (Frankie) of Abbeville, Michelle Wright, and Sonia Waite (Franklin), both of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren, Walt, Jeremy, Shalanda (Courtney), Dawn (Steve), Noah and Nia; four great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Joe Smith, Jr. (Joyce), Mary Alice Jones, Lucinda Lance (Curtis), Carolyn Spears (Edward), Regina Reeves (Barry), all of Jacksonville, FL; and a multitude of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
