BLAKELY, GEORGIA. . .Jean Brown English, a resident of Blakely, Georgia, died early Sunday morning, December 1, 2019, at her home. She was 78.


     Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (C.S.T.) Wednesday, December 4, 2019, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East, Abbeville, Alabama,  with  Dr. Alex Howell officiating.  Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


     Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.


     Mrs. English was born and reared in Shorterville, Alabama, daughter of the late John Rufus Brown and Nina Rose Wills Brown. She lived in Early County, Georgia most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. English was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Evans, Coot English.


     Surviving relatives include two daughters, Tammy Moore, Panama City, FL and Beverly Johnson, Headland; two sons, Randall English, Blakely; and Trey English-Roussin (Kevin), Charlotte, NC;  a sister, Joann Barefoot (Larry), Abbeville; two brothers, Wesley Brown (Doris) and Ronnie Brown (Kaye), all of Shorterville; nine grandchildren, Brandon Moore (Lisa), Chase Moore (Jessalyn), Hannah English, Jacob English, Madison English, Hunter Whiddon, Ali Johnson and Jordan Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Brianna Moore, River Whiddon and Aiden Whiddon.
