Jean Gaines Mauldin, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016. She was 94.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 18, 2016 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Oates officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Dothan, Alabama.


Mrs. Mauldin was born on June 7, 1921 in Houston County and was a lifelong resident of Dothan. She was a 1938 graduate of Dothan High School and attended Huntingdon College. Mrs. Mauldin was a homemaker and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church for the past 75 years.


Mrs. Mauldin was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Alexander Mauldin.


Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Tom) Sahli, Overland Park, Kansas; her son, Ken Mauldin, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her 4 grandchildren, Tommy Sahli, MD, Westwood, Kansas; Stephen Sahli, Denver, Colorado; Jenna Sahli, Columbia, South Carolina and Kendall Sahli, Prairie Village, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.
