Born April 2, 1926, Jean was raised in New Brockton. She regularly attended New Brockton Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ into her life, and graduated from New Brockton High School. Following graduation, Jean married the love of her life, Jake Mann, on July 26, 1944. The happy couple resided in Troy, AL until their move to Dothan in 1957 where she and her husband owned and operated Jake Mann’s Body Shop. Jean was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and lived in Dothan until her move to Enterprise in 2012.
Jean was beautiful inside and out and had many passions in life. Most important to her was her love for Jesus, her love for her family and her love for her friends. In return, Jean was deeply loved by so many. Her home was always open, and you could often find her cooking or baking for others. In fact, Jean spoiled her family by making homemade biscuits from scratch each morning, much to the delight of her late husband. Jean thoroughly enjoyed traveling to visit family and spending weekends at Lake Eufaula. But she would never stay Saturday evening as Sundays were for church. Jean’s true gift in life was nurturing those in need.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Jake Mann; her parents, Collis Martin and Elma Wilkes Martin; and her son, James Eric Mann.
