Jeffery “Jeff” Alfred Hutto, a resident of Dothan, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 5, 2022. He was 58.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home with Dr. David Saliba officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm.
Jeff was born December 11, 1963, to the late John and Dorothy “Dot” Hutto in Crestview, FL.
Jeff attended Dale County High School where he excelled at football and graduated with the class of ‘82. He began his football career at Southwest Mississippi, where he made many lifelong friends. After a year, he transferred to Auburn University where he was part of the 1983 SEC Championship Team. Jeff completed his Bachelor’s degree at Troy State. He excelled in teaching and mentoring many young men throughout his coaching and pharmaceutical careers.
Jeff’s natural ability to adapt to anyone on any level gave him an exceptional opportunity to develop many lifelong friendships. If you had ever met Jeff, his big personality always left an impression and was hard to forget. His sarcasm and sense of humor always made everyone laugh and offered a sense of comfort. Jeff was a very giving and compassionate soul that left an impact on anyone that met him. Jeff was a dedicated family man that extended far beyond his immediate family. He never shied away from expressing his love and pride for any of their accomplishments, big or small. Jeff’s reach had no borders or boundaries, and he always took a moment to make you feel special.
Jeff is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Natalie Hutto; his three children, John (Claire), Lauren, and Jake; his two sisters, Michele (Jeffy) Willis and Debbie (Myron) Whitman of Newton; and many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
