Jeffie Bass Goodson of Enterprise, AL passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 in Enterprise. She was 94.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 5, 2019 at Enterprise City Cemetery with Rev. Fox Fleming, Rev. Mark Helms and Neal Goodson officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Enterprise City Cemetery Association, PO Box 310075, Enterprise, AL 36331.
Jeffie went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, after struggling over 9 years with memory loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on November 23, 1924 to the late Alonzia M. and late Nancy A. Bass. After graduating from high school and marrying the absolute love of her life, Jeffie and Collis went on to celebrate over 60 years of marriage and they built a home that nurtured their 3 children. Jeffie and Collis owned and operated Goodson Red and White Grocery for many years. Jeffie was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Enterprise where she taught 6th grade Sunday School classes for many years and she served as a Deacon’s wife and lived according to the instructions of 1 Timothy 3: 11-12.
Jeffie is preceded in death by her husband, Collis Oneal Goodson; daughter, Nancy Faye Goodson Andress; Son-in-law, Mike Andress; Grandson, Thomas Goodson; Sisters, Louise Stephens and Nann Floyd; Brother-in-laws, Joe Hatcher, Holman Stephens, and John Quinn Floyd.
Jeffie is survived by her two sons, Danny Goodson (Linda) of Enterprise and Tommy Goodson (Lora) of Calhoun, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Mary Goodson Hatcher of Hartford; five grandsons, Rob Andress (Tricia), Jeremy Goodson (Sandy), Sam Goodson (Jessica), Neal Goodson (Amanda), Josh Goodson (Abby); eight great-grandchildren, Graham Andress, Avery Andress, Ellie Andress, Adelaide Goodson, Madelyn Goodson, Ella Goodson, Olivia Goodson, and Reuben Goodson; and several nieces and nephews.
