TUSCALOOSA… Jeffrey D. Jones, a resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and formerly of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday evening, August 2, 2024, following a four-wheeler accident at his son’s residence in Helena, Alabama. He was 61.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Worship Center of First Baptist Church – Headland, with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders officiating. The family will receive from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at First Baptist Church – Headland prior to the services. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to First Baptist Church – Headland Bridge to Tomorrow Fund, 301 East Church Street, Headland, Alabama 36345.
Mr. Jones was born in Cottonwood, Alabama to the late Admiral Dewey Jones and Nina Mae Mathis Jones. He was a 1980 graduate of Cottonwood High School and also attended Wallace Community College. He received his business degree from Huntington College. He had previously lived in Headland, Alabama prior to moving to Tuscaloosa, Alabama about fifteen years ago. When he was living in Headland, he was very active in the Headland Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church – Headland.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Benny Frank Jones.
Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife, Rhonda Williams Jones; his daughter, Darby Jones (Albert Lewis); his son, Danley Jones (Caroline Lewis); his sister, Danny Sue Vaughn; his brother, Mickey Fletcher (Dorothy); his sister-in-law, Brenda Jones; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
