OZARK. . . Jennie Thompson Herring Lindeman, a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, October 4, 2017, peacefully in her sleep at her home after suffering with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 88.
No funeral services will be held. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, alongside Burdette Lindeman. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Choice Hospice, 1864 Andrews Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360.
Mrs. Lindeman was born and reared in the Sylvan Grove Community, near Midland City, daughter of the late Frank Alexander Thompson and Lillian Pearl Stephens Thompson. She formerly lived in Dania, Florida where Jennie and her husband, Raymond, lived and raised their family until Raymond’s death in 1970. She remarried and moved back to Ozark for the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Raymond Ellis Herring and her second husband, Burdette V. Lindeman; seven brothers, Garland Thompson, Allen Thompson, Gayle Thompson, Rhodes Thompson, Stanton Thompson, James Thompson, and George Thompson; sisters, Betty Jo West and Carolyn Bowdon; and a granddaughter, Michelle Nicole Young.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Lillian Teresa Herring-Young; three sons, Raymond Jerry Herring, Frank “Butchie” Herring, Gary Reed Herring; a grandson, Michael Raymond Young; and a brother, Frank Thompson.
