HEADLAND. . .Jerry L Armstrong, a resident of Headland, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. He was 75.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2023, in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Sam White and Reverend Ted Forrester officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry Armstrong was born and reared in the Hebron Community of Henry County, son of the late Lenwood Armstrong and Bunch Roney Armstrong. He was a 1966 graduate of Headland High School and received a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Economics from Auburn University in 1970. Jerry retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) as the County Supervisor in Houston County. He lived most of his adult lifetime in Dothan before returning to Henry County in 2015. Jerry was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include a son, Jeremy Cliff Armstrong, Dothan; a sister, Judy Armstrong Fieg (John), Headland; his former wife, Karon Hathcock Armstrong, Dothan; two nieces, Laura Fieg Smoak (Jason), and Leslie Fieg Jordan (Josh), a nephew, Patrick Fieg (Catrena).
