MONTGOMERY. . .Jerry Layne Danner, a longtime resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died Sunday night, October 27, 2024, Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery. He was 79.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in the Old Center Cemetery, (764 County Road 89, Newville, Alabama 36353) with Reverend Dr. Alex Palomaria officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Danner was born May 11, 1945 in Bessemer, Alabama, son of the late E. R. and Mary Nell Lemley Danner. He was reared in Louisville, Alabama where he graduated from Louisville High School in 1963. In 1967, while working at Ft. Rucker, he met and eventually married Cindy Brannon Danner. They moved to Montgomery in 1969 where he was employed by the Internal Revenue Service. Afterward, Jerry went into the car business and after many years, retired from his own business, Danner Wholesale Cars. He served his country in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1971. For over fifty years, Jerry was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 46 in Eufaula, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Cindy Brannon Danner, his parents, E. R. and Mary Nell Lemley Danner, and his brother, Ray Danner.
Jerry leaves to cherish wonderful memories to his daughter, Amanda Danner, who will remember him affectionately as a loving father and her best friend.
He loved his family and spent countless hours listening to his favorite music and watching sports, among his favorite were the Alabama Crimson Tide and the New York Yankees. Jerry loved the outdoors, enjoyed golfing and fishing, and hunting in his younger days. He had a big personality and wonderful sense of humor, and often was the life of the party.
