JERRY MARTIN ARMAGOST
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE…Jerry Martin Armagost, a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Knoxville. He was 77.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (CDT) Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Columbia City Cemetery in Columbia, Alabama, with Dr. Don Armagost officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrews Baptist Church, 3010 West 15th Street, Panama City, Florida, 32401.
Mr. Armagost was born in Hooversville, Pennsylvania, son of the late Charles Blair Armagost and Ruth Wilt Armagost. He lived in Panama City, Florida most of his adult life before moving to Knoxville in 2008. Mr. Armagost was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years. He retired as the owner and operator of Armagost Auto Parts in Panama City. Mr. Armagost was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Thompson Armagost, brother, Charles Armagost, Jr., sisters Betty Blough and Geraldine Wagner.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Gina Byrd (Russell), and Gerilyn Landry (Chris), all of Knoxville; two sons, Greg Armagost (Pam), Gainesville, FL, and Glenn Armagost (Susan), Fayetteville, GA; two brothers, Dr. Don Armagost (Linda), Columbia, MS; Rodney Armagost (Lenora), Wewahitchka, FL; sister-in-law, Carolyn Thompson Ballard, Dothan, AL; ten grandchildren, Sarah Byrd, Hannah Byrd, Jonathan Landry, Katharine Landry, Caroline Landry, Blair Armagost, Reed Armagost, Adam Armagost, Eric Armagost, and Ansley Armagost.
