Jerry T Nowell, Sr, 77, of Daleville, Alabama son of Oscar Sylvester Nowell, Sr. and Ludie Mae Culver passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Saturday afternoon January 6, 2018.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Calvin Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Dothan, Alabama with Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm to 2pm Tuesday.

Jerry was born June 30, 1940 on the family farm near Ashford, Alabama. He graduated from Ashford High School in 1958. Being very proud of his country, Jerry made the decision to serve in the United States Air Force. He married his friend and love Annie Jean Hicks (Jeanie) in October of 1960. They were married for 57 years and they had two children. He retired from Ft. Rucker Army and Airforce Exchange Service (AFFES) after more than 38 years as Lead Aircraft Mechanic. His love of the outdoors inspired many of his hobbies to include hunting, fishing and oil painting. He had a gardeners green thumb and a healers touch, he made flowers bloom beautifully and peoples lives richer. He was a member of Grace Place Church in Enterprise, Alabama. Jerry, your warmth, wisdom and humor will be forever remembered by all who knew you.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Ray Nowell, Tommy Nowell and O.S Nowell, Jr. , sisters: Annie M. Mills, Evie Jean Burch, Ruth Ellen Buie and Breal Johnson.

Jerry being a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, he leaves behind his loving wife Jeanie, daughter Debbie and son Jerry Jr (Dixie), grandchildren: Bevin Bright (Clay), Brian Nowell (Katie), Jordan Danford, Brandon Kroeger (Xochilt), Adam Kroeger, Kolten Kroeger, great grandchildren: Audrianna Bright, Carlynn Nowell, Arianna Kroeger, Kai Bear Kroeger, Kysen Prather, Kaden Kroeger, Talon Kroeger, sisters: Faye Watkins and Gloria Moseley(Dale) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers: Brian Nowell, Kolten Kroeger, Jordan Danford, Kiefer Parrish, Trace Deloney, Kyle Filby Honorary Pallbearers : Wade Johnson, Frank Strickland, James Black.
